NYC : A Slow Morning in My Own Pace

Half a Day Just for Myself

It was one of those unusually slow mornings.
Though I work from home, I decided to take a half-day off, giving myself permission to simply breathe and move gently through the hours.

On most mornings, I force myself to wake up early and plunge straight into work.
But today, I let my thoughts clear slowly, while gazing at the tulips on my table, enjoying the quiet process of waking up.

A Little Stand That Stopped Me in My Tracks

While walking through my neighborhood, I spotted something that instantly drew me closer —
a tiny lemonade stand, framed in bright yellow, almost too small and sweet to call a "shop."

Behind the table stood a little shop owner, barely kindergarten age, welcoming customers with shy determination.
A handwritten paper sign, letters uneven and full of heart, stood proudly in front.

What impressed me most was this young entrepreneur’s thoughtful preparation:
a neatly placed alcohol sanitizer, and two insulated bottles keeping the lemonade perfectly cool.
This small CEO cared deeply about both hygiene and quality, and it showed.

When Smiles Spread Easily

Passersby who once wore blank expressions found themselves smiling as they approached the stand.
It wasn’t just lemonade — it was a street-side reminder of joy, innocence, and the warmth of human connection.

As I lingered, I began wondering how I could bring a touch of that street charm into my own daily life.

Finding Happiness in the Quiet Moments

Some happiness hides in the smallest, simplest moments.
It isn’t found in rushing from task to task,
but in slowing down enough to walk at your own pace —
and in doing so, discovering small joys that appear only by chance.
